I decided to use this Stamp of the Month to make some simple little gifts. I made a gift card holder and a box of Hershey's hugs.

I did make the gift card tag bigger than I needed for the gift card so that I could highlight more of the stamps of this terrific set. I cut that at 5.75" for the back and 5.5" for the lining and pocket. All other cuts were made based on the carrier sheet recommendations for sizes. Paper behind each were cut .25" larger. Hearts were cut at 1.25", backed with cocoa cardstock cut at 1.5".

Spring/Summer 2012 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop. There are over 20 very creative Close to My Heart Consultants on this hop ready to showcase their fabulous artwork with new product from the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book. If you have come from Karen's Blog, Enriching Memories, you are on the right path.

For my projects, I did a simple card and a layout of my husband and myself that I created for my family's Walt Disney World album.

First up, the simple card highlighting the new Card Word Puzzle Stamp Set. This stamp set has 63 stamps, including the words to form many phrases and sentiments. I also love the flower stamp on it.

I stamped on a Grey Wool Card Base (cut out with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge) and then stamped the flower and sentiment in versamark.

I then embossed with our outdoor denim embossing powder.

My final touch was using the grey opaques to the center of my flower.

I did pop all the smaller circles using our 3D Foam Tape.

CAS Card: Rock the Block

This card is definitely a CAS card based off the fabulous Tresa Black. You can find her beautiful version of this card here. Thanks for the inspiration Tresa! You're artwork is so inspiring and well, fabulous!

Still inspired by the Stella paper pack, I decided to use a color combo of tulip, sunset and cocoa. To make it into a valentine, I used the Love stamp found on the Rock the Block set.

Inside (sorry about picture quality on this one)

I also used the paper piercer for my faux stitching, but instead of sanding it like Tresa did, I used a white gel pen.

The Love stamped is heat embossed in white and looks much whiter in person.

Rock the Block: A Few More Days

I made the card is 4 1/2" square.

For the diagonal pattern, I stamped the diagonal stamp in archival black ink.

I used my blending brush to add the lagoon and sunset ink to this stamped image.

For the saying, I masked the border that comes around the saying.

Since I had been working with the {new} Stella paper pack and already had these colors on my table, I decided to carry them over to this card.

Heart Garland Inspired by Pinterest

I found a wonderful tutorial for a paper heart wreath on Pinterest the other day.

Instead of making the wreath, my daughter and I created heart garland out of the Roxie paper pack.

We just cut a piece of the paper into 1x12 strips. We folded each strip in half and then put adhesive on one end. We brought the two ends together to form a heart. We alternated which side of the Roxie paper would be on the outside. To put the hearts together, we just put a strip of adhesive between them. I used my ATG gun for adhesive, but any strong adhesive would do.

A simple craft project that was fun to do. I hope you have a wonderful and crafty day!

Can you tell that these are both from Mischief? One obviously is, but one looks a little different. I made them both in Studio J.

I love that I can change the colors in Studio J to match my pictures.

For this layout, I used Studio J's No Limits layout and the photo collage, shared by the very creative Amy Ulen.

I love that I can still use my Mischief paper and embellishments on this layout with a very different template.

Another Mischief Card for Cricut Circle Challenge

Another Mischief creation (have I mentioned how I love this paper?) for a Cricut Circle Challenge.

The challenge: use the below sketch with 2 cricut image cuts.

I pulled out the Art Philosophy cartridge (okay, it was already in my machine...)

I cut the moon as the circle shape at 1.75".

I cut the tree at 3".

The sentiment is from the zip strip on one of the Mischief papers.

Simple Mischief/Remarkable Wreath Card

Since I was holding a workshop this evening, I only had time to do a quick and simple card. I already had the Mischief paper out, so I decided to do a wreath for fall with traditional Halloween colors. I used Black, Sunset and Gypsy for my wreath. The paper behind the wreath is from Mischief paper pack. I finished it up using the ribbon from the Black Mini-Medley pack and Sunset Cardstock for the base. I also sponged all the edges with Black Ink.

Mischief Workshop on the Go

Just a reminder that I will be holding the Mischief workshop Monday evening, in my studio.
I thought I loved this layout before I started it, but I had a lot of fun putting it together and love it so much more now that I have it done and with my pictures on it. All I have left is journaling, but I wanted to be sure to post it today.
These pictures are from last Halloween and that was the only year that my kids went with a theme and both followed it in their costume choices. My son isn’t dressing up this year, so I am so glad that they decided to do this last year. My son was Harry Potter and my daughter was Hermione Granger. We had so much fun taking these pictures and every time I look back on them, I smile!

This week, I was surprised to open my email and find that I'd been honored with a blog award. This blog award is special since it goes to great blogs with less than 200 followers.

Sharing with Heart Blog Hop

Welcome to September's Sharing from the Heart Blog Hop. If you have come from Deanne's Blog, you are in the right place.

This month, my focus for the blog hop will be on fall. I decided to create two layouts in Studio J, which I have a membership for. Both layouts are for members and both layouts use the Dreamin' kit, which is for everyone.

I will be updating with my jpegs for Studio J (I am just waiting for them to be sent to me). In the meantime, I copied the layouts from Studio J so that you could see them.

The first layout is named Performance and it can also be found in the Magic How-To Book. The second layout is named Honeycomb and it is a new layout to Studio J. The first layout is from a visit to a Botanical Gardens in the fall of 2008 and the last layout is of my son a few days before starting seventh grade this year. That layout doesn't have a title because I will be adding that and a journaling box once I get the layout. The journaling box will include my son's thoughts/feelings right before starting middle school this year (in his own handwriting).

I love Studio J since it is definitely faster, simpler and easier. It has helped me catch up (i.e. with the first layout) and stay caught up (i.e. the last layout).

I made a layout for my family's Disney album using the Limited Edition stamp. I based this layout on a Got Sketch layout.

I used the stamp set for both the journaling box and the "luggage tag" on my layout.

When I cut the journaling box out on my Cricut using my Art Philosophy cartridge, I used the auto fill to fill the page and then used the Limited Edition stamp in multiple colors.

This way, I will have several on hand for journaling boxes on my layouts.

Treat Bag Made from Cricut Card and a 3D Box and Tag

Today I had some time to get crafty. I was able to create a treat bag from a cricut Art Philosophy card. One cut and some score lines and I created this adorable little treat bag. The roses were also cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and the stamp came from one of the three sets in the bundle. (The chocolate seashells were borrowed from my kids for photo purposes.)

And a simple 3D box and tag created with the Art Philosophy cartridge. The stamp is from the Typeset Workshop on the Go kit.

Have I mentioned how much I love this cartridge?

August Stamp of the Month: Wicked

I wanted to do something different with this stamp set. I'll have plenty of Halloween artwork to show with our wonderful new paper pack, Mischief, later in the month. But I wanted to do something a little more out of the box for this project. When I looked at the stamp set, the octagons reminded me of honeycombs and also of some pictures from a long ago trip to the Children's Museum atYunker Farm. So here is the layout that I created from the Illusion layout in Magic (one of our terrific how-to books):

I did use cocoa ink and my stipple brush over the top of the Kraft CS once I stamped the woodgrain image in Desert Sand. This further distressed it to give it the look of wood.

I distressed the edges of the paper in black ink.

I stamped the bee image twice in archival black ink. Once on my layout and once on the White Daisy CS.

I used my waterbrush to color in the bee image on the White Daisy.

I then cut out that image and attached it with the 3D foam tape.

The title is cut on my Cricut with CTMH's new exclusive cartridge: Art Philosophy!

Happy 4th of July and a Ribbon Carousel Challenge

I want to wish all my American bloggers a very Happy 4th of July! Celebrate safe today!

I created this card for the 4th and also for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge. For this challenge, we were to create a 4th of July project and as always, use ribbon on our project.

I random stamped the background on the front of the card.

I used Stitched Together, Circle Together and Jubilation stamp sets on that background.

The twine came from the Ribbon Carousel.

Week 2 of Summer Card Camp 2011

Here is my card with the Week 2 Color Combo:

For this card, I cut circles out of the front of the card. I stamped the colored circles on another scrap of white daisy cardstock with the Hit the Spot stamp set and the Circle Together Stamp Set.

I cut those out and attached them to the back of the circle cut outs.

I then stamped the Stitched Together over the circles on the outside of the card.

Inks: Black, Creme Brulee, Sunset, Tulip, Pear and Clover Meadow (retired)

Stamp Sets: Circle Together, A Little Everything, Stiched Together and Hit the Spot

Online Card Classes: Summer Card Camp 2011

For the first card, I used 2nd generation stamping with the Hit the Spot Stamp Set circles and then stamped the outside of the circles.

I deliberately chose to not line up the circles with the border to acheive a sloppy look.

I then chose the chipboard Irresistibles Eclectic Alphabet

and applied black ink with a sponge.

The colors that I chose for this color challenge were gypsy, cotton candy, sky and sunset.

Supplies used (All CTMH):

Cardstock: White Daisy, Black

Inks: Gypsy, Cotton Candy, Sky, Sunset, Black

Stamp Sets: Hit the Spot

Other: Irresistibles Eclectic Alphabet, sponge

Same colors used here.

I used the Aspiration stamp set to create the background paper, as well as for the big focal flowers.

I random stamped on the background paper and then heat embossed in white.

I then ran a sponge dauber over the embossed flowers in a circular motion.

For the focal flowers, I also embossed them in white embossing powder.

I used my markers to create the coloring on the flowers and buffed the flower with a cloth to remove any ink from my marker from the white embossing.

I cut out the focal flowers and attached to the card.

I used the Kanji Phrases stamp set for the sentiment.

I based this pattern off of a sketch from class.

Supplies used (All CTMH):

Cardstock: Gypsy, White Daisy, Black

Inks: Gypsy, Cotton Candy, Sky, Sunset

Stamp Sets: Aspiration, Kanji Phrases

Markers: Gypsy, Cotton Candy, Sky, Sunset

Embossing: White Daisy

Other: Heat Gun, Micro Tip Scissors, sponge daubers

On this last card, I used an additional color combo that we were given.

It removed the sunset and added pear in it's place.

I used the Fill in the Blank Stamp Set for the clouds

and heat embossed them in white.

I stamped the hot air balloons in pear, cotton candy and gypsy

and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I cut them out and added them to the card with

3D foam tape.

Supplies used (All CTMH)

Cardstock: Sky

Inks: Black, Pear, Gypsy, Cotton Candy, Versamark (for embossing clouds)

Stamp Sets: Fill in the Blank (for cloud squish the scallop circle stamp...the beauty of acrylic stamps),

Over the Rainbow (could also use this stamp set for clouds)

Embossing Powder: White Daisy, Clear

Other: Micro tip scissors, 3D foam tape, Heat Gun

Placing an Order

July 11: Workshop on the Go kit or paper pack ( I do recommend the kit, as it really helps take the layouts to the next level) Optional: Matching Stickease

July 18: Reflections 8 from 1: One paper packet of your choice (please let me know which one if you are using one from your stash). Optional: Inks/Embellishments/Stamp sets that coordinate with your paper. You are welcome to use mine, but if you think that you will take longer to create, you might want these on hand to finish layouts at home

July Crop: Multi layout scrapbook pages workshop: One paper pack (please let me know which one as I will have to add the correct color cardstock to the workshop in addition to your paper packet. These are paid for by the piece.) Optional: Inks/Embellishments/Stamp sets that coordinate with your paper. Father's Day Paper Bag Card

A couple of you have asked about a paper bag card and what that looks like.

Here's the one that I did (based on a wonderful creation from the talented Annette Green).

I also used the Lucky paper pack and cased Annette's directions on how to make the card.

What I changed was the stamp set I used.

Since my children and I bought my husband a driving range punch card,

we made it into a golf theme with the retired Tee Time stamp set.

(Thanks Angie for the idea of keeping with the golf theme).

The two ribbons sticking out of the side include a tag. Each of the kids wrote a personal message to their Dad.

Sorry for the sideways picture.

It was how the kids layed out gifts for Dad.

This one shows the inside of the card with the pocket in which Dad's gifts went.

Last Call for Crop- Studio J and Father's Day Paperbag Card

Last call for anyone interested in my crop tomorrow evening. Bring your laptop or pictures on a jump drive and borrow my laptop. I will be teaching some basics and some more advanced Studio J tips and tricks, as well as working on a paperbag Father's Day card inspired by the very creative Annette Green. Cost is $15 and includes dinner and snacks, as well the project supplies and some goodies. Be sure to bring some of your own projects to work on too! Crop starts at 4:00 pm. Lots of graduation parties coming up this weekend, so I had to get busy on cards for the grads. Our school colors are orange and black, so I used this color scheme and added grey to it also.

2nd Generation Stamping is a great technique and one I use often to stamp an image in a more subtle way.

It is a simple technique that I find myself using often.

You simply ink your stamp like you would for normal stamping.

Stamp off on a scrap paper.

Do NOT reink your stamp.

Stamp a second time where you want to place your image on your project.

That is 2nd Generation Stamping.

I would love to see what you create with this wonderful technique.

This weekend I got a chance to make a simple card with the stamp of the month, Chairs to You. This one includes a black base (which is hard to see with the black background...sorry), grey wool and sweet leaf. I did it based on the Color Throwdown #142.

More Mayberry for Monday Workshop

Here's a couple more layouts that I created from Mayberry and Magic, with Stickease added. Both these layouts are suggested layouts found on the back of the stickease.

Magic: Performance

I added the Stickease, Pink Assortment of Buttons and Neutral Embroidery Floss. All the rest was part of my Mayberry Workshop on the Go Kit.

Next up is Magic: Shuffled Deck

I only added the Stickease, Pink Ribbon, Pink Button Assortment and Neutral Embroidery Floss. You could easily do this layout with just the stickease only. Again, the paper is from my Mayberry Workshop on the Go kit. And I still have a ton of paper left. I made 5 two page layouts and 2 cards so far with the paper in that kit. I only added the Stickease, a few pieces of cardstock and a couple of embellishments. I hope this gives you an idea of how far one Workshop on the Go Kit can go.

Let's see you use up some of your scraps from a Workshop on the Go Kit. Trust me, it can go farther than you can imagine.
